Allison howell, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Dr. Allison Howell is joining VSSI as a graduate of the University of Evansville, earning her B.S. in Exercise & Sports Science in 2013 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015.  She obtained her CSCS in 2013 during her doctoral studies.  Dr. Howell completed a 15-month sports residency with ProRehab and the University of Evansville following graduation and became certified as a sports specialist physical therapist in 2017. After completion of her residency program, she continued working in an outpatient/sports clinic in Evansville, Indiana, treating high school and recreational athletes, as well as Division I athletes at the University of Evansville.

In 2018, Dr. Howell moved to Chatham, Virginia to continue enhancing her knowledge in the Functional Movement Systems. She has a passion for treating patients as a whole person and addressing the root cause of their symptoms.  This desire to serve others led her to providing a continuing education in-service over the Functional Movement Systems to all employees during her time at Mountain River Physical Therapy, to give additional tools to other therapists for patient care.  Dr. Howell enjoyed helping the Chatham community, including the general population, local athletes, Hargrave Military Academy cadets and post-graduate basketball players, and Chatham Hall students. Dr. Howell has had the opportunity to participate in MLB and NHL combine testing and Major and Minor League baseball spring training testing. 

Outside of the clinic, Allison enjoys hiking, playing volleyball, baking, and enjoying time with her husband and son. Dr. Howell has a passion to help people to live an active, healthy and fulfilling lifestyle, and is eager to continue serving the Chatham community and surrounding areas.
