Armand McGibbon, MD

Dr. Armand McGibbon is a hospitalist practicing in Central Virginia, where he has cared for hospitalized patients since 2015. His approach to medicine is grounded in a lifelong appreciation for science, compassionate individualized patient care, and a strong connection to athletics. The son of two chemists, Dr. McGibbon grew up with a strong appreciation for science and analytical thinking. His interest in medicine was further shaped by five years of volunteering in an emergency department, experiences that helped reinforce his desire to combine his love of science with his interest in working directly with people.

Dr. McGibbon has also maintained a longstanding connection to hockey and collegiate athletics. His involvement with Liberty University hockey began in 1996, and he later coached the men’s program before helping establish Liberty University’s women’s hockey program in 2000. His involvement in collegiate hockey ultimately led to his participation with the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) at the national level, where he has served in a variety of roles, including team physician for multiple international hockey competitions. His experience working with athletes has allowed him to combine his medical expertise with his longstanding passion for hockey and collegiate athletics.
