Lucas Piazza is a Performance Coach at Virginia Sport & Spine Institute with a passion for helping athletes unlock their full potential through evidence-based strength and conditioning. Currently a senior at Liberty University pursuing a degree in Strength and Conditioning, Lucas combines his academic knowledge with hands-on coaching experience to develop athletes of all ages and skill levels.
Growing up as a high school athlete sparked Lucas's interest in sports performance and inspired his desire to improve the way athletes train. He is committed to building stronger, faster, and more resilient athletes by emphasizing hard work, dedication, consistency, and an engaging, athlete-centered training environment.
Lucas currently serves as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach for Liberty University's Men's Ice Hockey teams and has gained valuable experience working with several of Liberty's athletic programs. He joined Virginia Sport & Spine Institute as an intern in January 2026 and has since become a valued member of the performance staff.
While Lucas primarily works with hockey and baseball athletes, he has experience coaching athletes across a wide range of sports and age groups, including elementary-aged children, middle and high school athletes, collegiate competitors, and active older adults. His goal is to help every individual improve performance, reduce injury risk, and develop the confidence to succeed both in sport and in life.
