Dr. Bennett joins the team after completing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Lynchburg in 2023. Originally from the Hampton Roads area, Dr. Bennett played baseball growing up and into college prior to serving in the United States Army. Dr. Bennett spent over six years in the U.S. Army before moving to Lynchburg with his wife and attending the University of Lynchburg. Dr. Bennett obtained a bachelors in Exercise Physiology, before moving right into graduate studies.
Dr. Bennett is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and has been a coach in numerous settings since 2013 including Crossfit, Olympic Weightlifting, Military and Sports Performance. He has a dedication to improving human movement across various capacities, and truly enjoys optimizing sports performance through focused strength and power-based training for aspiring athletes and patients. He has since trained high school athletes in the Lynchburg area, sending many on to play collegiate sports. Dr. Bennett has a passion for incorporating all aspects of human performance to develop well rounded athletes capable of excelling at the next level. He seeks to bring his unique experiences and skills to physical therapy and performance training at VSSI.
